The Center for Developmental Disabilities, Inc. is private agency recognized as a leader in the non-profit Human Services field, serving children and adults with autism and developmental disabilities for over 50 years.  Our programs are staffed by dedicated and caring individuals including experienced, veteran managers, licensed professionals and skilled, motivated direct care and support staff.

Our mission is to help children and adults with differing abilities achieve their dreams by overcoming barriers to living, learning, working and enjoying recreational activities in the community of their choice.

The Center offers a very generous benefits package for employees who work 25 or more hours per week, which includes medical, vision and life insurance, disability, various bonuses and tuition awards and a tax deferred annuity.   Family medical, dental and long term disability are available to employees working at least 30 hours per week. Salaries are union scale, commensurate with experience and education.

Children's Residential Program

 

Direct Support Professional          

Excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining knowledge and experience providing services to children and adolescents with developmental disabilities in a residential setting.  Part time and Full time positions available.  High School degree or GED required. No experience necessary.

7:00 AM - 10:00 AM
3:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Adult Residential Programs

           

Direct Support Professional

We are looking for mature, responsible individuals to provide services to adults with developmental disabilities in residential settings.  Our group homes are located throughout Nassau and western Suffolk county.  Full and part time positions, morning, evenings and weekend hours available, flexible schedules and excellent benefits.

Minimum Requirements:
High School diploma or GED and a clean NYS driver's license for at least 2 years; experience with the developmentally disabled preferred.

Children's Day Program

             

Certified Special Education Teacher

This is a full time position teaching children with special needs in a small classroom setting.

Minimum Requirements: New York State Certification in Special Education. Demonstrated knowledge of relevant education interventions and strategies.
Experience with persons with developmental disabilities preferred.

 

Paraprofessional

We are looking for responsible caring individuals to work assisting the student and teacher in a special education classroom.

Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma
Relevant education and/or experience with persons with developmental disabilities preferred.

 

We offer an excellent benefits package.  These positions are full time, Monday - Friday: 8:40 am - 3:20 pm, 30 hours per week.  Substitution positions are also available.  Excellent opportunities for persons looking for a career in Special Education.  The Children's Day Program is part of The Center for Developmental Disabilities, Inc. a private not-for-profit newly renovated, state of the art facility providing services to children for 50 years.

RN Manager

Adult Services: Monday – Friday flexible hours.  Two years acute care experience required, work independently, oversee and support healthcare needs of individuals, staff training.

Children’s Services: Woodbury, NY. Monday – Friday, 3-11 p.m.,  support healthcare needs of children, staff training. Part time weekend hours available: 7a.m.- 3p.m. and 3-11 p.m.

Adult Services Nursing Supervisor     

Monday – Friday, flexible hours.  Minimum of five years nursing experience and knowledge of OMRDD regulations required.  Oversee group of homes, AMAP training, QA.
